The real question that needs to be answered is whether or not we are going to practice and enforce what we already claim to believe. Are we going to stand on God's word and be united in a common confession, or will we be driven off course by the winds of changing culture? If we complementarian delegates vote against the motion today, our vote will only help egalitarian practice to become further entrenched and normalized. If this motion does not pass, understand, we will likely lose at least 10 complementarian churches in Pacific.

Response to FEB Prairies Letter
“We agree that the Gospel is foremost; however, secondary matters, like baptism, bind us together as a movement. In fact, many would see complementarianism as more important than baptism, being a creation ordinance. It is good to appreciate our theological history and church autonomy; however, our theology is not just a historical reference point but...
FEB Prairies Communication about the ’97 Motion
“As mentioned in Fellowship Pacific’s October 16, 2025 letter, Fellowship Prairies defeated the following motion at our Regional Convention in May of 2025, “Be it therefore resolved, in accordance with 1 Timothy 2:12, Fellowship Prairies will only recognize churches in which their elders (or pastors or leaders) who preach to or otherwise have authority over...
Tim Stephen’s CBMW Article on the Fellowship
“One of the questions I have is this: Will the Fellowship follow the Christian & Missionary Alliance, which now ordains women pastors? Will steps toward a “soft egalitarianism” be tolerated by the national convention? It must be remembered that typically practice changes before policy. That is, one church then a growing number of churches adopt...
Joshua Claycamp to National Churches on ’97 Motion
“Fellowship Pacific stipulated three conditions for “joyful fellowship” with the region that were not given at the IMPACT convention by the constituency of our Region but prescribed by the board afterwards. The board’s conditions were: Our churches were never to be critical of female preachers who preached to men. While we were allowed by leadership...
Dave Nannery, Avoidant Culture in FEB Pacific
“Out of this 14-year involvement in Fellowship Pacific, I offer this concern: our current crisis is downstream from a deeper cultural problem. Only recently have I been able to put my uneasiness about this into words: I believe our present crisis has developed because of a conflict-avoidant approach to discussing genuine and significant divisions among...
FEB Pac Response to Complementarian Correspondence on ’97 Motion
“Following the defeat of the ten churches’ motion regarding the Fellowship Pacific policy of 2005, another motion was made and passed from the floor of the AGM, stating that the constituency “direct the Fellowship Board to follow up with the ten signatory churches who brought the motion forward today to see if they can joyfully...
Second Letter from Five Churches to National
“Reason #1: This is not a new conversation within our Fellowship but is a conversation that has already been happening for over 30 years. Our churches already voted on a Position Statement in 1997 that was passed with an overwhelming majority (83%). In addition, an amendment was made to our National Bylaw in 2004, in...
FEB National Communication about the ’97 Motion
3. What has been the National Council’s role in this motion? National Council would encourage MEMBER churches to task National Council to steward a two to three-year process to bring congruence between the bylaws and our newly revised Affirmation of Faith if passed. However, this motion to make the 1997 Position Statement a Policy Statement...
FEB Central Communication about the ’97 Motion
“FEB Central adheres to the 1997 position statement on Gender in Pastoral Leadership and the Fellowship national bylaws. We are complementarian. What this means is that elders and lead pastors in FEB Central churches are to be biblically qualified men. FEB Central “churches are expected to call staff members “pastors” only when they qualify for...
