“Since those meetings, discussions among the signatory churches and others have continued, and a draft motion to change our current policy is being circulated. While these churches have the right to propose changes, we are concerned that an incomplete version of events is being shared and that little regard is being given to the unity of the Fellowship.
Additionally, there have been efforts to lobby the National Council to pressure the Affirmation of Faith Committee into adopting a more rigid stance—one that would limit the ability of our churches to govern themselves and cause direct conflict between the region and National.
Due to ongoing divisive actions and stated willingness to divide the Fellowship, thus far one church has had its membership in Fellowship Pacific suspended. This unanimous decision of the Board was not made lightly but was necessary to uphold the unity and integrity of our Fellowship.”
